Cyera vs Cyberhaven after classification, when the copy leaves

Cyera DSPM for the store, Browser Shield when the risky action is an AI prompt in the browser, and Omni DLP when an enforcement point is already in place. Cyberhaven when lineage has to follow a copy across email, web, or removable storage.

On 3 February 2026, Cyberhaven made a DSPM module generally available on the platform it already sold for data in motion. That release names DSPM, data loss prevention, insider risk, and AI security together, across endpoints, SaaS, cloud, on-prem systems, and AI workflows, with real-time enforcement and user feedback.

Cyera is not a store-only product. On 3 Oct 2026, Cyera DSPM classifies cloud, SaaS, database, and on-prem stores and lists revoke, mask, a workflow, or a route to the data owner among 30 or more actions. Browser Shield can alert or block a prompt inline before it is submitted to a public model. Omni DLP aims at data moving across email, cloud, and AI, and its FAQ says teams keep the enforcement points they already run. Two DSPM specialists are already compared on Cyera vs Sentra. This pair is which module covers the channel that is failing. The wider shortlist is DSPM tools.

  1. 1. StoreCyera DSPM classifies the store and the access around it.
  2. 2. PromptBrowser Shield can block that prompt inline in the browser.
  3. 3. File exitCyberhaven’s email, web, and removable-storage pages put enforcement on those channels.

Cyera

Cyera data security platform

Cyberhaven

Cyberhaven data security platform

Cyera completed the acquisition of Oasis Security on 3 September 2026, and that product is now the Cyera Identity pillar, separate from the DSPM module in the tables. The Cyera front page on 3 Oct 2026 leads with agent trust. DSPM is still a named module on the platform. Cyberhaven is still sold as Cyberhaven. No closed acquisition of Cyberhaven was on cyberhaven.com the same day.

Editions and pricing

Neither site posts a dollar. Treat both direct orders as quote-required. Use the rows below as the billing shape, not as a finished price.

Cyera CyeraCyberhaven Cyberhaven
How you buy it nowA custom quote. The pricing page offers two plans, one for DSPM and one for DLP, on the same platform. Named add-ons include Data Subject Request Automation and DataWatcherAn order form for the products you select, direct or through a reseller. The enterprise terms (27 July 2026 mark) meter endpoint users and endpoint usage. Reseller invoices follow the reseller’s terms
Public units (3 Oct 2026)No public dollar on the direct plans. Since 26 February 2026, DSPM can also be subscribed through AWS Security Hub Extended. Cyera says consumption metering is automatic and the charge lands monthly on the Security Hub bill. No unit rate is printed on that note. DataWatcher is an add-on in the same consoleNo public dollar. Direct fees are invoiced annually in advance, in U.S. dollars, net 30, unless the order form or statement of work says otherwise. Overage is pro-rata from the first day of excess use through the end of that term
What the invoice coversDo not read a DSPM quote as the DLP plan, or as Browser Shield. Do not read the monthly AWS line as DataWatcher. The AWS note is a procurement path for DSPM, not a rate cardThe terms price the product at endpoint users and endpoint usage. They do not publish a separate public line for DSPM, DLP, or insider risk. Confirm the modules on the order form rather than assuming the front-page list is one SKU
Main buying considerationIs the first signature a Cyera quote that names DSPM, Browser Shield, Omni DLP, or more than one of those, or a monthly Security Hub line that still has no printed unit rate?Is the count you will be invoiced on endpoint users, endpoint usage, or both, and is that count annual in advance?

Modules on the order

Cyera CyeraCyberhaven Cyberhaven
Where it looksDSPM: cloud, SaaS, database, and on-prem stores. Agentless. Cyera states the scan can cover hundreds of petabytes. Browser Shield looks at prompts in the browserThe DSPM release names endpoints, SaaS, cloud, on-prem, and AI workflows. Lineage is what ties a finding to where the data originated
What a finding isA class, plus context Cyera lists as sensitivity, business purpose, identities, access activity, and exposure. Stated store actions include revoke, mask, a predefined workflow, or a route to the data ownerA class Cyberhaven says is applied as data is created and updated, with the lineage of each copy staying on the record used for enforcement
Stated accuracyCyera’s DSPM page states 95%+ precision with no manual rules and no ongoing tuning. That figure is theirs. It was not remeasured hereNo precision percentage on the DSPM release. The claim there is fewer false positives because the class rides on lineage, which we did not test
Main buying considerationWhich Cyera module is on the quote: store inventory, prompt control, or decisioning over a DLP you already run?Does the order include Cyberhaven enforcement on the exit channel you are failing, or only the DSPM discovery module?

Channels each control can name

Cyera CyeraCyberhaven Cyberhaven
Store at restDSPM classifies the store and can revoke access, mask data, run a workflow, or route the finding to a data ownerThe DSPM release says discover and assess sensitive data across endpoints, SaaS, cloud, and on-prem, and reduce over-shared data
Browser prompt to a public AI toolBrowser Shield alerts or blocks inline before submission, using classification, identity, and intentA named browser-extension control for prompts was not found in this research. The web page covers uploads and pastes to unsanctioned websites
EmailOmni DLP’s headline includes email. The FAQ on that page says Omni does not change existing enforcement points, so a block may still be the email control you already runCyberhaven for email blocks sensitive data to the wrong recipient, including a personal account used on a work device, and can show the user a message
Web upload or pasteA Cyera-native block for a general web upload was not found in this research. Omni DLP names email, cloud, and AI and still sits above enforcement points you keepCyberhaven for web blocks uploads or pasting to unsanctioned websites
USB and hard drivesA Cyera page naming USB or hard-drive enforcement was not found in this researchCyberhaven for removable storage blocks flow to USB devices and hard drives, with separate treatment for corporate and personal devices
Main buying considerationIf the miss is a prompt in the browser, Browser Shield is the Cyera control that says it blocks inline. If the miss is a file on USB or in email, confirm whether the block is Cyera’s or a DLP you already ownIf the miss is email, a web upload or paste, or removable storage, Cyberhaven’s own pages put the block on Cyberhaven

The comment names Cyberhaven and describes a store finding that stays tied to a live copy. That matches the DSPM release. It does not settle the Cyera column. Browser Shield is a separate inline control for prompts, and Cyera DSPM remains the store inventory.

Where they overlap

An RFP that says “DSPM” will draw both. Cyberhaven’s DSPM module discovers and classifies, and Cyera’s DSPM module does that work for stores. Overlap is classification plus a finding about where data sits. Both also sell a DLP story. Those stories are not the same control.

The split that survives the pages opened the same day is the channel. Cyera’s inline block, on the Browser Shield page, is a prompt in the browser. Cyberhaven’s inline blocks, on the email, web, and removable-storage pages, are those exits, on Cyberhaven’s own platform. Omni DLP, per its FAQ, still leans on an enforcement point you already operate. A second specialist DSPM, side by side with Cyera, is the Sentra comparison, not this one.

When to use both

Use both when the failing channels are not one module. A store Cyera DSPM can classify and clean, a prompt Browser Shield can block, and a file Cyberhaven can stop on email, web, or USB are different orders. There is no shared console in the pages read for this comparison, and no joint connector was found in this research. Do not read either product as a replacement for the other’s named channel. If the only open failure is a prompt in the browser, Cyberhaven’s DSPM module is not the control Browser Shield describes. If the only open failure is a USB copy, a Cyera DSPM order does not name that block.

Choose Cyera DSPM when the open problem is unclassified or overexposed data in cloud and SaaS stores and the action you need is revoke, mask, or route. Choose Browser Shield when the open problem is a prompt into a public AI tool and you need an inline block in the browser. Choose Omni DLP when you already run an enforcement point and you want decisioning above it, not a replacement for that point. Choose Cyberhaven when the open problem is a copy leaving by email, web upload or paste, or USB and hard drives, and you need lineage plus Cyberhaven’s own enforcement on that channel, DSPM module included.

FAQs

Is this the same decision as Cyera vs Sentra?

No. Cyera vs Sentra is two DSPM specialists classifying stores. The decision here is which module covers the channel that is failing: store inventory, a browser prompt, or a file exit Cyberhaven names. Cyberhaven’s DSPM module does not turn the pair into a second specialist bake-off.

Does one product replace the other?

Not as a category. It depends on the module and the channel. Cyera DSPM is the store inventory. Browser Shield can block a prompt inline. Omni DLP, per its FAQ, does not replace the enforcement point you already run. Cyberhaven’s email, web, and removable-storage pages put enforcement on those channels. Order the module that covers the failure, instead of treating either product as a full replacement.

Does Cyera block a file on the way out?

Browser Shield, on the page opened 3 Oct 2026, alerts or blocks a prompt inline before it is submitted to a public model. Omni DLP is a separate plan from DSPM, and its FAQ says teams keep their current enforcement points. A Cyera block for USB, print, or a general web upload was not found in this research. Confirm on the order which product actually blocks the channel you care about.

What public prices are checkable?

Checked 3 Oct 2026. Neither site posts a list price. Billing shape, the monthly AWS Security Hub path, and Cyberhaven’s annual endpoint terms are in Editions and pricing. Do not invent a dollar from a missing list price.

Did either company rename the product?

No. Order Cyera and order Cyberhaven. The DSPM name on Cyera’s platform page is still Cyera. Cyberhaven’s front page on 3 Oct 2026 still uses the Cyberhaven name.

Is this a hands-on bake-off?

No. Sources are the product, pricing, terms, and announcement pages plus one community comment.
